Have you ever said “sure” to a favour, then realised it meant much more work than you expected? Practise clear, polite English for asking what someone needs, offering limited help, and saying no when you need to.
In this private English lesson, Daniel and Maya work through a thirty-page document, a party that takes over an evening, and everyday requests from friends and colleagues. You’ll hear different replies, notice what they suggest, and try your own answers aloud.
This lesson is designed for B1–B2 English learners. It includes natural conversation, useful phrases, brief language corrections and five speaking activities. Pause whenever you want more time to answer.
Useful phrases from the lesson:
• “What do you need me to check?”
• “I only have time for the first two pages today. Would that help?”
• “Let me check my schedule. I’ll let you know tonight.”
• “Sorry, I can’t take that on today.”
• “I can help set up, but I can’t stay for the cleanup.”
