THE VANISHED ARMY - Kenneth J Alford - Band Of H M Royal Marines, Commandos

It is not surprising that many of Kenneth Alford's marches were dedicated to specific aspects of WWI as it was during and after this conflict he was most active. He composed 'The Vanished Army' in 1918 and dedicated it to the memory of the first 100,000 soldiers who perished. Although it is rarely shown on labels it was subtitled 'They Never Die'. Here is the Band Of HM Royal Marines conducted by Captain J R Perkins with this performance from the 1993 album The Complete Marches Of K J Alford.
