The band consists of four members: Moon JungMin (Guitar & Vocals), Kim TaeBong (Guitar), Jun MinKyu (Bass), and Lee ChoongHoon (Drums). Their music poetically explores the hidden beauty intertwined with time and space, expressed through a unique Korean sensibility. Themes such as life and death, light and darkness, moments and eternity, ideas and existence, meetings and farewells, and meaning and meaninglessness are ever-present in their soundscapes. The band debuted with their EP [Lost] in March 2011. In 2014, they performed on NAVER ONSTAGE and were named EBS SPACE’s “Hello Rookie of September.” Their first full-length double album, [Stream of Consciousness], was released in September 2016. With this album, they won “Best Modern Rock Album” at the 14th Korean Music Awards in 2017 (KMA 2017) and were also nominated for “Album of the Year.” In September 2021, they released their second full-length double album, [The Borderline between Hope and Despair]. This album won “Best Modern Rock Album” at the 19th Korean Music Awards in 2022 (KMA 2022) and was also nominated for “Best Modern Rock Song.” Wings of the ISANG creates music that unfolds vast and intricate narratives. Their two full-length albums and one live album have all been released as double albums, reflecting the breadth of their musical vision. Their soundscapes evoke images of a vast universe, expansive earth, deep abysses, and sometimes simple, film-like memories. Their music, rooted in the rock genre, combines these soundscapes with a uniquely Korean sensibility that cannot be found anywhere else in the world. This is the essence of Wings of the ISANG and the originality that defines them. “시간과 공간을 노래하는 밴드, 이상의날개” 이상의날개는 2011년 대한민국 서울에서 결성된 포스트록 밴드로, 문정민(기타 & 보컬), 김태봉(기타), 전민규(베이스), 이충훈(드럼) 네 명의 멤버로 구성되어 있습니다. 그들의 음악은 시간과 공간에 얽힌 숨겨진 아름다움을 한국 특유의 감수성으로 시적으로 탐구합니다. 삶과 죽음, 빛과 어둠, 순간과 영원, 관념과 존재, 만남과 이별, 의미와 무의미 같은 주제가 그들의 사운드스케이프에 녹아 있습니다. 이상의날개는 2011년 3월 EP [Lost]로 데뷔하였습니다. 2014년에는 네이버 ‘온스테이지’에 출연하였으며, 같은 해 EBS 스페이스 공감의 ‘9월의 헬로루키’로 선정되었습니다. 2016년 9월에는 첫 번째 정규 더블 앨범 [의식의흐름]을 발매하였습니다. 이 앨범으로 2017년 제14회 한국대중음악상(KMA 2017)에서 ‘최우수 모던록 앨범’을 수상하였고, ‘올해의 앨범’ 후보에 오르는 영예를 안았습니다. 2021년 9월에는 두 번째 정규 더블 앨범 [희망과 절망의 경계]를 발매하였으며, 이 앨범으로 2022년 제19회 한국대중음악상(KMA 2022)에서 또 한 번 ‘최우수 모던록 앨범’을 수상하였습니다. 또한, ‘최우수 모던록 노래’ 부문에도 후보로 지명되었습니다. 그들은 2장의 정규 앨범과 1장의 라이브 앨범 모두 2장의 CD가 담긴 더블 앨범으로 발매할 정도로 긴 호흡의 방대한 서사를 담는 사운드스케이프 음악을 하는 밴드입니다. 그들의 음악에는 광활한 우주가 있기도 하고, 황량한 대지가 있기도 하며, 아득한 심연이 있기도 하고, 때로는 그저 소박한 추억이 마치 필름처럼 담겨있기도 합니다. 록 장르를 기반으로 그러한 사운드스케이프와 전 세계 어디에도 없는 한국 고유의 감성이 함께 담겨 있는 음악. 그것이 바로 이상의날개의 음악이자 전 세계에서 오직 ‘이상의날개’만이 가지고 있는 오리지널리티입니다.
