Saturday, September 12 | Morning Prayer to Rest in God's Peace Today Have you ever woken up tired from a week you already survived? 🙏 You carried Monday's worry into Tuesday, Tuesday's pressure into Wednesday, and arrived at Saturday morning still holding everything you were never asked to hold. Perhaps you prayed for peace and received only more responsibility. Perhaps you asked God for rest and the week only grew louder. This powerful Saturday morning prayer is built on Matthew 11:28 — "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." That invitation was not written for people who had already organised their lives. It was written for a heart exactly like yours, at the end of a week exactly like this one. Notice what Psalm 23 says the Shepherd does: he MAKES us lie down in green pastures. Sometimes rest is not a reward you earn — it is a gift you are led into. For the person whose body is here but whose mind is still running, still solving problems that belong to next week. For the one whose soul went quiet in the wrong way — not the quiet of peace but the quiet of exhaustion.
