Diggy Simmons: When Nepotism Goes Wrong! Stunted Growth Music

Diggy Simmons was born into hip hop you can say, his father a part of the legendary hip hop group Run DMC, pioneers in the rap game that were vastly before their times when it came to mass marketing the genre. On the show Run's House last season it was Diggy’s turn to finally break out of his shell and attempt his hand at rap, and surprisingly he was well received, much more than his brother at least, as his music was non threatening seeing as he wasn’t trying to fake like he was from the streets or look and behave like he saw everyone else around him at the time. His first project released in 2009 and was dowloaded 100,000 times. In 2010 he received praise from Yeezy himself, then in 2011 became a XXL freshman with the likes of Meek Mill, Mac Miller and Kendrick Lamar. His debut album released in 2012 and sold 20,000 copies first week, at the time considered a flop by music standards, leading to Diggy questioning his future in music. It took 6 years for him to try again in 2018, but this time was even more discouraging, seeing as the teeny bopper fans most from his hit tv show, were grown and past his musical renditions. Since then he shied away from music, proving Nepotism doesn’t always work for these reasons. Diggy Simmons: When Nepotism Goes Wrong!
