They're still real pieces: hit them, repair them, build onto them. Faster object streaming, water, zone and terrain checks, each giving exactly the game's own result. Far view (experimental, off by default; type "perf far on" in the F5 console): builds, terrain edits, trees and rocks out to the fog line. "perf off" / "perf on" in the console to compare live.
