WMNF: An Ecosystem in Recovery (Volume 2 Part 2: Discovery Trail Present)

The art of discovery in the White Mountains is explored by visiting the Discovery Trail in Lincoln, NH. The goal of this second part is to learn how the forest service manages the forest, which is required given that most of the trees are 80-100 years old. Any given stand is likely to be even aged and susceptible to diseases, insects and wind damage. David Govatski, a forester, tells us what one sees as the forest is explored.
