I am a worshipper of the same God who knew me, called me, saved me, redeemed me, and restored me. And I will praise Him across languages and musical traditions, bringing the nations into worship with me, one song, one culture, one nation at a time.
Dove Eyes (Behold Your Glory) is a Persian-inspired worship song rooted in the poetry of the Psalms. It is a prayer to behold the glory of God, encounter the light of Jesus Christ, and become more like Him.
To have dove eyes is to keep our gaze fixed on the One who matters above all else, remaining faithful to Him until the end. As I explore the musical expressions of different cultures, my prayer is that these sounds may become invitations to worship the same Lord, whose beauty transcends borders and whose light reaches every nation.
With love for our family in Christ in Iran, and every heart yet to behold the light of Jesus Christ.
Lyrics below.
One thing have I asked of You, O Lord,
One thing my heart will seek:
To dwell within Your holy presence,
To behold Your beauty deep.
Let all the noise fall silent,
Let every lesser vision cease.
Turn these wandering eyes toward You,
And teach my restless heart Your peace.
Give me the eyes of a dove, my Lord,
That I may look on You alone.
That I may see Your holy beauty
And make Your presence all my own.
Not for the wonders of Your hand,
Nor only for the gifts You give,
But for the glory of Your face,
For You, O Lord, my soul shall live.
[Chorus]
I would choose to be with You any day,
To dwell within the shelter of Your light.
To gaze upon Your glory, Lord,
And find my joy in Your sight.
And while I sojourn here below,
Let me behold until I'm changed.
Let me become like Jesus, Lord,
Till all my life reflects Your name.
You have searched me and You know me,
You have held me in Your care.
Even in the hidden places,
I have found You waiting there.
And sweetest is this truth I've come to know:
You delight to draw me near.
You have made me for Your fellowship,
And I am known and loved by You.
Teach me truth with tender mercy,
Keep my heart both firm and kind.
Let the wisdom of Your presence
Shape the workings of my mind.
For I would rather walk beside You
Than be praised for what I know.
Let Your Word become my inward life,
And let Your gracious spirit show.
[Chorus]
I would choose to be with You any day,
To dwell within the shelter of Your light.
To gaze upon Your glory, Lord,
And find my joy in Your sight.
And while I sojourn here below,
Let me behold until I'm changed.
Let me become like Jesus, Lord,
Till all my life reflects Your name.
Root me deep, O God, within You.
Keep me steadfast, keep me true.
Let me stand before Your presence,
Let me stand for what is Yours.
Make me faithful in Your temple,
Make me mindful of Your heart.
Let me bear Your holy kindness
As I walk the world apart.
Not my glory, but Your glory.
Not my will, but Yours alone.
Till the life You form within me
Makes Your goodness ever known.
[Final Chorus]
I would choose to be with You any day.
One thing I ask, one thing I seek:
To dwell within Your holy presence,
To behold Your beauty deep.
And while I sojourn here below,
Let me behold until I'm changed.
Let me become like Jesus, Lord,
Till all my life reflects Your name.
With dove eyes, let me behold You.
With a steadfast heart, remain.
Till I see You in Your glory,
Let my life proclaim Your name.
I would choose to be with You
Any day.
