Model Car Garage Show And Tell - My Dad's JoHan 1931 Cadillac V16 Town Brougham - A Model Car Build

Join me for a look at one of the special models in the Monster Hobbies collection — my Dad's Jo-Han 1931 Cadillac V-16 Town Brougham! My Dad built this classic Jo-Han model in the 1970s or early 1980s, back when model builders often assembled kits using the molded colors of the plastic rather than painting every part. Nearly 50 years later, this Cadillac has survived remarkably well, and it remains one of the models I inherited from my Dad's collection. The 1931 Cadillac V-16 was Cadillac's flagship automobile and one of the most impressive American luxury cars of the pre-war era. Powered by Cadillac's massive 452-cubic-inch V-16 engine, the Series 452-A combined enormous power with custom Fleetwood coachwork and an extraordinary level of luxury. In this Show & Tell, we'll take a close look at Dad's finished Jo-Han model, including the exterior, interior, engine compartment, chassis and the unusual removable chauffeur's roof section. I'll also look at some of the details Dad added with paint, including the wood-colored interior, painted engine, spring covers and pinstriping. The Jo-Han 1931 Cadillac V-16 series has an interesting history of its own. Originally introduced in the 1960s and released again during the 1970s, the kits represented several different Fleetwood body styles. The Town Brougham is one of those distinctive versions, with the enclosed passenger compartment and open chauffeur's position. This model is also a great example of how much information can be packed into an old model kit. The chassis features the V-16 engine, three-speed manual transmission, torque tube, rear differential, suspension and braking components, while the removable hood allows the impressive engine to be displayed.
