What If Tyrion Betrayed the Lannisters for Sansa?

Join our Discord community:   / discord   Tyrion Lannister walks into the most guarded room in King's Landing on the night his wife disappears. He steps close to his father and whispers nine words. Eight of them are lies. Tywin had not flinched at the Red Wedding, but now his hand closes on the edge of the desk, and he orders that Sansa Stark be brought back alive and unharmed. Six hours earlier, Tywin ordered Tyrion to give Sansa a son before her grief could turn into resistance. Tyrion refused. With Varys, Bronn and Shae he got her out through a drain under the Red Keep, burned a Lannister cloak on the Blackwater to cover the boat, and sailed for the one man who hated the Lannisters most consistently: Stannis Baratheon. The lie travels faster than they do. It keeps Joffrey alive past his wedding day. It earns Sansa a loan from the Iron Bank, draws Tywin's ships north, and makes Roose Bolton give away Ramsay's future in front of Ramsay's own men. In the roofless great hall of Winterfell, Tyrion finally says the nine words out loud. ▶ The full alternate history, in one video. Settle in.
