🚨 The Matrox G100 Was NOT Ready for 3D Gaming

The Matrox G100 looked like a promising late-1990s graphics card, but once I put it through a series of real-world gaming tests, things took a very unexpected turn. In this video, we take a detailed look at the Matrox G100, its history, technology and where it fitted into the rapidly changing graphics card market of 1998. Then I install it into a period-correct Pentium II 400MHz system with an Intel 440BX chipset, 256MB of RAM and Windows 98SE to see what it can actually do. 🎮 I test the G100 with a selection of classic PC games, including: 🟢 Need for Speed III / Hot Pursuit 🟢 Unreal 🟢 Other classic Windows 98-era games and benchmarks But the biggest surprise isn't actually the frame rate... The G100's 3D rendering quality can be seriously problematic. In games such as Need for Speed Hot Pursuit and Unreal, missing or poorly rendered transparency effects can dramatically change the way the games look. And that's where things get really interesting.
