If you're new to my channel, one thing I do with my concert videos is, if allowed by the artist and their team, I post the full concert video along with my honest thoughts! But this time, I also wanted to share a little backstory on when and how this channel came to life with concert videos and fancams. One of my biggest hobbies is watching series and movies. (I try to watch something new every week!) And as a Virgo, of course I keep a list and rate everything I've watched LOL. Okay, going back to my story! Back in 2023, I found the K-variety show Earth Arcade. With so many male variety shows in Korea, it was refreshing to watch an all-female cast that was just loud, chaotic, and funny. I also love travel variety shows, so it quickly became one of my favorites. That same year, An Yujin (one of the show's cast members), along with her group IVE and the show's producer PD Na, came to LA for KCON, so of course I went to see them?! Then in 2024, IVE came to LA for their first world tour, which ended up being my first Kpop concert. For tonight's concert in LA, when Yujin came out with curly hair during soundcheck, I immediately told my seatmate (my new friend, hi Brian if you're reading this! lol) that it looked like she decided to wear the same hairstyle from the last time she was in LA. Sure enough, during IVE's last ment, she shared that she wanted to recreate that hairstyle because she had such great memories from their first world tour stop in LA. The concert itself was okay. I wish they had brought the live band because it always makes concerts feel more special, but the recorded instrumentals still sounded good. One thing I also noticed, and honestly dislike, is how much brighter the lighting is at K-pop concerts compared to non-K-pop concerts. That's not really an IVE thing though. It feels more like an industry-wide thing because I had the same experience at aespa and SEVENTEEN concerts. Also I think one thing that could be better was the flow of setlist, last tour had a better pace or sections all through out. Unfortunately, out of all the IVE events I've been to (there's plenty, see the fancams linked above! haha), this was the one where I had the worst luck. Both my floor seat and my send-off spot were blocked by big tall guys, so I barely got any good views or fancams (my height just isn't built for this 😂) And my bias, which you should've figured out by now lol, rarely looked toward my section lol 💔 Even so, I'm still happy I got to see IVE. They'll always have a special place in my heart because they were my first K-pop concert. It's funny that my Kpop reawakening and all these concert videos and fancams happened simply because of discovering Earth Arcade. Haha! Seeing IVE or Yujini, honestly feels like a tradition now lol.
