Extreme heat is now NYC’s deadliest climate threat, causing hundreds of preventable deaths each summer and hitting low‑income, and chronically ill New Yorkers the hardest. Yet many high‑risk neighborhoods still lack adequate cooling resources—some areas had only two cooling centers for over 160,000 residents during recent heat waves.
Join us for a timely conversation on the urgent need to expand cooling access, strengthen emergency response, and advance new legislation—including NYC’s codified cooling center program and statewide protections for tenants and workers.
This webinar brings together advocates, experts, and policymakers to explore what a truly heat‑safe city could look like—and how we get there.
