The New International Airport has been operationalized w.e.f. 19th October, 2015. As per the Joint Venture Agreement between AAI, GMADA and HSVP, the equity contribution is in the ratio of 51.00%, 24.50% and 24.50% respectively. How to reach Chandigarh Airport ? It is a customs airport that serves the union territory of Chandigarh as well as Mohali, Punjab, and Panchkula, Haryana. The runway of the airport is in the Chandigarh union territory, while the terminal is in the Mohali village of Jhiurheri, which lies on the south side of the runway. Six domestic airlines use the airport to service Chandigarh's connections to 17 domestic and 2 overseas destinations.
