Inside Scotland's MOST FEARED Gang War: The Lyons vs Daniels Feud

Inside Scotland's MOST FEARED Gang War: The Lyons vs Daniels Feud A stolen cocaine stash worth £20,000 in 2001 helped ignite a feud between two Glasgow crime families that would stretch across 25 years, leaving men dead, innocent people seriously injured, and police investigations reaching from Scotland to Spain and Indonesia. The Lyons family from Milton and the Daniels family from Possilpark became embroiled in a conflict marked by shootings, machete attacks and allegations of organised drug trafficking. In December 2006, 21-year-old Michael Lyons was murdered inside his uncle's garage on Balmore Road. Four years later, Kevin Carroll, a prominent Daniels associate known as "The Gerbil", was shot dead in an Asda car park in Robroyston. The violence extended beyond those involved in Glasgow's criminal underworld. In April 2017, supermarket worker Ryan Fitzsimmons suffered brain damage after being attacked by masked men in Clydebank. Six men were later convicted of conspiracy to murder following a major police investigation. On 31 May 2025, Ross Monaghan and Eddie Lyons Jr were shot dead outside a beachfront bar in Fuengirola, Spain. Spanish and Scottish police subsequently expressed differing assessments of whether the killings were connected to the longstanding feud. In March 2026, Steven Lyons was arrested at Bali's international airport during a multinational investigation into alleged drug trafficking and money laundering. He was subsequently transferred to Spain, where he faced allegations that had not resulted in a conviction. A dispute over £20,000 had grown into a criminal conflict investigated across several countries, yet one of its most significant arrests came through an automated airport border check.
