Kristin Korb LIVE | The Vocal Side of Ray Brown at 100 | Campus JAX

A century of swing. Bassist and vocalist Kristin Korb celebrates the 100th birthday of her mentor jazz legend Ray Brown, LIVE from Campus JAX in Newport Beach, California. 🎶 KRISTIN KORB — THE VOCAL SIDE OF RAY BROWN Ray Brown (October 13, 1926 – July 2, 2002) helped define the sound of modern jazz bass. He performed with Oscar Peterson, Ella Fitzgerald, Dizzy Gillespie, and generations of jazz greats. Tonight we celebrate the music, spirit, and legacy of this towering artist, through the voice and bass of someone who actually studied and recorded with him. Kristin Korb recorded her debut album, Introducing Kristin Korb with the Ray Brown Trio, in 1996. Her new program, The Vocal Side of Ray Brown, brings selections from his trio songbook, pieces inspired by the lessons he taught her, and original discoveries to life. 🎼 THE TRIO • Kristin Korb — vocals and upright bass • Josh Nelson — piano • Kevin van den Elzen — drums 🎁 TAKE THE MOMENT WITH YOU — FREE JAX MOMENTO 013-A https://www.jaxblast.com/momentos/kri...
