--------------------------------------------------
We've had a great growing year with our Colorado Blue Spruce and Black Hills Spruce Christmas trees.
In this longer video, I walk through the field correcting leaders to help develop straight, symmetrical Christmas trees. Rather than just showing the finished result, I explain what I'm looking at and what's going through my mind as I decide how to correct each tree.
I cover different leader problems, how I decide which growth to keep or remove, and several of the tools and training methods we use in our Christmas tree fields.
Depending on the tree and situation, we use hand pruners, ADC training bands, bamboo stakes and a MAX Tapener to correct and train leaders.
Every tree is a little different, so the goal of this video is to show the decision-making process behind leader correction rather than just one technique.
