How did PROTONS BEGIN?

Inside a proton the tidy picture looked so elegant on the surface: three little balls in a bag, with the Higgs boson supplying the mass. Both are wrong, and what actually fills a proton would surprise most people who learned it in school. From the first microsecond of the universe and the naming of the proton in 1920 to quarks, confinement, and where your weight really comes from.
