The Lounge Club Shop: https://the-lounge-club-shop.fourthwa... ◉ *HOW WAS THE ECHO PROFETS CREATED?* The Echo Profets is an imaginary all-female Jamaican dub collective created for The Lounge Club, exploring the intersection of 1970s roots reggae, psychedelic dub, abstract hip-hop, broken beats, trip-hop and experimental electronic music. The project imagines a mysterious group of women working in an underground recording studio somewhere in Kingston during the late 1970s, experimenting with analog equipment, magnetic tape, deep bass frequencies and unconventional production techniques. Heavy reggae basslines, hypnotic drum patterns, vintage organs, fragmented rhythms, spring reverbs, tape delays and psychedelic sound manipulations come together in a series of instrumental compositions that connect the raw spirit of Jamaican dub with the atmospheric textures of contemporary electronic music. The result is an imaginary musical journey where the analog experiments of the past encounter the abstract rhythms and sonic possibilities of the future. Every track begins with musical research, visual references, prompt design, experimentation, arrangement and careful artistic curation. AI is one part of that creative process. The generated material becomes a starting point that can then be edited, rearranged, remixed and transformed using more traditional music-production techniques. The goal is not simply to recreate the sound of vintage Jamaican dub, but to explore what might happen if the experimental spirit of those legendary recording studios could travel through time, encountering hip-hop, trip-hop, downtempo and other electronic musical languages along the way. Editing, mixing and mastering are carried out in Ableton Live, where the recordings are shaped into a cohesive musical experience while preserving their hypnotic, raw and psychedelic character.
