10-29-26 Town Hall Meeting in Loves Park

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Town Hall Meeting last night in Loves Park. We discussed a wide range of important issues, including wasteful spending, improper purchasing procedures, river flooding, the Second Amendment, the First Amendment, asset forfeiture, license plate readers, five critical incidents in fewer than 50 days that resulted in the loss of four lives, the lack of leadership in the Sheriff’s Office, positions created for friends, millions of dollars in settled lawsuits and dozens of pending lawsuits, and a sheriff whose priorities appear to focus more on being a celebrity and politician than on leading the Sheriff’s Office. We also discussed limited law enforcement and administrative experience prior to Gary being elected sheriff, a lack of transparency within the current administration, Winnebago County’s crime rate ranking fifth among Illinois’ 102 counties, and the Crisis Co-Response Team (CCRT).
