Why Your Martial Arts Teacher Can't Teach

Bruce Lee said, "a teacher is never a giver of truth; he is a guide, a pointer to the truth that each student must find." This statement reflects an attitude of why many martial arts teachers cannot teach. An article that I discuss later in the video also looks at this same idea of why martial arts teachers are not good at teaching. Teaching is an actual skill. On top of being a skilled martial artist, someone must also possess the skill of teaching. In some cases, it is more important to be skilled at teaching more than being skilled in martial arts.
