Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel is a free-to-play digital collectible card game based on the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, developed and published by Konami for Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Android, and iOS.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, you can play either single-player, known in game as Solo Mode, where you proceed through a story of the cards involved playing against a computer opponent. In Multiplayer there exists a casual, unranked matchmaking system and a competitive, ranked system allowing you to compete with other players' strategies.
"Dracotail", known as "Dragontail" (ドラゴンテイル Doragonteiru) in the OCG, is an archetype of Spellcaster and Dragon monsters introduced in Deck-Build Pack: Justice Hunters.
The theme's names are a reference to the lunar nodes, the two points where the orbit of the Moon intersects the ecliptic (Earth's own orbit). The ascending node (☊) is where the Moon moves into the northern ecliptic hemisphere, and the descending node (☋) is where the Moon moves into the southern one. In medieval astronomy, the ascending node was known as the "dragon's head", while the descending node is known as the "dragon's tail", as being the only points in the sky where the Sun and the Moon can both be, they were thought responsible for them being 'devoured' during eclipses.
In Japanese, the archetypal cards associate the reading "Dracotail" (Japanese: ドラゴンテイル) with the kanji characters 「星辰」 (on'yomi: seishin), which means "stellar bodies". However, it is also literally composed of the characters 「星」 (on'yomi: sei, "stellar") and 「辰」 (on'yomi: shin, kun'yomi: tatsu), and the latter character is the term for the Dragon zodiac in the Earthly Branches. The kanji name is thus associated with both dragonic and stellar themes, as the Earthly Branches are also used in Chinese astrology.
This article is about the series. For the OCG/TCG card commonly referred to as "Chimera", see "Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast". For the Bandai card, see "Chimera" (card).
Chimera, spelled Chimaera (キマイラ Kimaira) in the Japanese version,[1][2] is a series of cards consisting of "Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast", "Chimera Fusion", and cards that mention, or are mentioned by, either of them.
Its first members are "Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast" and its two materials: "Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts" and "Berfomet". They were used by Yami Yugi in the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga and anime.
Its second wave of members, which are focused on "Chimera Fusion", retrains of the original members, and the Illusion Type, were introduced in Duelist Nexus. And thus, these are often referred to as 'DUNE monsters'
