-------------------------------------------------
Islamic teachings describe these events through the Qur'an and, in greater detail, the Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)
1. What is the Era of Tribulation?
In Islamic terminology, severe trials and temptations are often described as fitan (plural of fitnah). These can include religious confusion, injustice, warfare, social disorder, and situations that test a person's faith.
The term does not refer to one precisely dated historical era. Rather, Islamic sources describe various trials throughout history, as well as major signs associated with the approach of the Last Day.
2. Who is the Antichrist (Al-Masih ad-Dajjal)?
In Islam, Al-Masih ad-Dajjal is a great deceiver who will appear before the Day of Judgment and become a severe test for humanity.
According to authentic Hadith, he will deceive people through extraordinary signs and claims that challenge their faith. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ repeatedly warned his followers about him.
According to Islamic narrations:
A powerful deception: The Dajjal will present falsehood in ways that mislead many people.
A test of faith: His appearance will test whether people remain firm in their belief in Allah.
A limited period: A Hadith in Sahih Muslim describes his stay on Earth as forty days, with the first day like a year, the second like a month, and the third like a week; the remaining days will be like ordinary days.
3. What happens during the Dajjal's era?
Islamic eschatology describes a sequence of major events associated with the end times. A simplified overview is:
1. Widespread trials and tribulations
People face deception, confusion, and challenges to their faith. The exact chronology of all these trials is not established.
2. The emergence of the Dajjal
He becomes one of the greatest trials described in the Hadith, deceiving people and testing their belief in Allah.
3. The return of Prophet Isa (Jesus), peace be upon him
According to Islamic belief, Prophet Isa will descend and defeat the Dajjal. This event is described in the Hadith literature.
4. The emergence of Ya'juj and Ma'juj (Gog and Magog)
Islamic sources describe their emergence as another major sign of the Last Day, following the events associated with Prophet Isa.
