"This video is an academic documentary intended strictly for educational, historical, and general knowledge purposes. It provides an objective review of regional history for students, researchers, and public service exam preparation." In Part 4 of our deep dive into the Naga political movement, we uncover the critical turning point of 1990: the passing of A.Z. Phizo and the resulting power struggle split the Naga National Council (NNC) down the middle into NNC (Adinno) and NNC (Khodao). Following Phizo's demise in London, the rapid transition from a temporary appointment to permanent command sparked deep internal dissent among battle-hardened jungle veterans. Led by long-standing Vice President Khodao Yanthan, veteran leaders challenged the Kohima resolution, citing concerns over remote governance, regional balance, and democratic succession. By July 17, 1990, the mother organization of the movement fractured into two parallel factions, altering the course of Naga history forever.
