我骑着摩托车从爱丁堡出发，沿着乡间小路，来到苏格兰边境小镇皮布尔斯（Peebles）。 沿途停下来喝咖啡，遇到骑马的人，也赶上了一阵大雨和冰雹。不过，这趟骑行最让我停下脚步的，是小镇里一段关于女巫审判的历史：那些曾被指控为“女巫”、因此失去生命的人，留下了怎样的记忆？今天安静的小镇，与这段沉重的往事，形成了令人感慨的对照。这一期，和我一起慢骑苏格兰，在乡间风景与小镇街巷之间，看看眼前的生活，也了解这里的过去。 I set off from Edinburgh on my motorcycle and followed country lanes to Peebles, a town in the Scottish Borders. Along the way, I stopped for coffee, paused to let horse riders pass, and rode through a spell of heavy rain and hail. But what stayed with me most was a piece of the town’s history: the people accused of witchcraft who lost their lives, and how they are remembered today. The peaceful town we see now offers a poignant contrast to that troubling past.
