Our First PRS Match: What Beginners NEED to Know

Today is the Super Bowl (no idea which number, don’t care) and instead of vegetating on the couch, I teamed up with the King of Run & Guns himself, Brandon Rhodus, to shoot our first-ever PRS (Precision Rifle Series) match. We walked so you can run. And then we tripped. A lot. We brought the same rifles we use for Run & Gun competitions, The Tactical Games, and Old Eighteen Defense—and promptly realized we were heavily outgunned by dudes who live, breathe, and sleep PRS. So we did what smart people do: 👉 We listened. 👉 We learned. 👉 And we laughed at ourselves. Biggest takeaway: If you’re even thinking about getting into PRS shooting—GET OFF YOUTUBE AND GO TO A LOCAL MATCH. The tips, insider knowledge, gear setup advice, and connections you’ll make are absolutely priceless. This was a humbling, challenging, and honestly badass learning experience for both of us.
