I got invited into a stranger's home, found the grave of a local legend, watched a guy magnet fishing in the river, broke the fast with locals during Ramadan and explored everything from the backstreets to the Alun-Alun to Pantai Boom. This place is nothing like Bali and that's exactly why I went.
