"Mâini de Aur (Cântecul Lidei)" (Golden Hands, Lida's Song) is a Romanian folk-worship ballad written with love and gratitude in memory of Lida, honoring her faith, her patience, and her golden hands.
Lida came with her family to a new and unfamiliar shore. She sang in the choir and sewed garments for those going down into the waters of baptism to begin a new life. After an accident, she spent ten years confined to her bed with her Bible beside her. No one ever heard her complain. She prayed, and she believed. Her strength faded, but her faith grew stronger.
Now the long road has ended, the door stands wide open, and Lida is home.
The song also carries her family's love across the miles, from Sacramento to Ozernoe. Lida always asked about the family and prayed for them through long hours, and now they pray for her and promise to keep her memory: one family, one language, one faith.
With warm acoustic guitars, expressive violin, soft choral harmonies, and subtle funeral procession drums, this is a song of remembrance, comfort, and hope.
FROM THE CHORUS:
"O, Lida, puterea ți-a slăbit, dar credința s-a-ntărit,
De Domnul te-ai ținut, iar El te-a ținut necontenit.
Acum drumul lung s-a-ncheiat, ușa e larg deschisă,
Ești acasă, Lida, ești acasă."
(Oh, Lida, your strength grew weak, but your faith grew strong. You held on to the Lord, and He held you without ceasing. Now the long road has ended, the door is open wide. You are home, Lida, you are home.)
FROM THE FINAL VERSE:
"Vom păstra amintirea ta împreună, firul ce ne-a ținut,
O familie, o limbă, o credință ce-ai păstrat-o până la ultimul minut."
(Together we will keep your memory, the thread that held us: one family, one language, one faith that you kept to the very last minute.)
Scripture echoes: Acts 9:36–39; Matthew 6:11; 2 Corinthians 4:7 and 5:8.
Odihnește-te în pace, Lida. (Rest in peace, Lida.)
Created with love, reverence, and gratitude.
Because our art is loving people.
