“Love’s Sombre Death (Canto II)” is a surrealist dirge on love’s demise; it deals with reaching closure and release when one surrenders their control to the forces without. It was inspired by personal experiences at the infamous Neudegg Alm in 2018. The second Canto is a refined and distilled re-recording of the longer, original version, which was self-released on the summer solstice of 2020 and featured guest vocals by O-A (Light of the Morning Star). “Love's Sombre Death” is the second single from Pyre of Descent's upcoming debut album ‘Albedo’, released on the 23rd September of 2026. ‘Albedo’ is co-released with Rubeus Obex on double vinyl, (limited to 200 copies worldwide), and by Swiss Dark Nights on digipak CD.
