There's no camera in this film. No actors, no footage, and not a single AI-generated frame. Claude Opus 5.5 wrote the screenplay, and then it wrote the camera: 1,389 lines of code that ray-trace every frame through a simulated lens (depth of field, anamorphic bokeh, even the RGB subpixels of a laptop screen in macro), light a grandfather's table with afternoon sun, and compose the whole score on a five-note scale. I directed it, gave notes on every cut, and designed and directed the voices with a text-to-speech model. The story it wrote is about what AI can't translate. A grandfather in Chengdu and his grandson in Florida can only talk through an AI translator. Every Sunday he asks, “Have you eaten?” The translation is perfect.
