WATCH: Chaos Erupts As French Police Stop Migrant Dinghy Headed For UK After | Times Now World

In this Times Now World News report, we break down the this topic: Chaotic scenes unfolded on France's northern coast on Sunday as migrants scrambled to board overcrowded inflatable boats in an attempt to cross the English Channel to Britain. Footage from near Gravelines showed children screaming as passengers fought for space aboard a dinghy, prompting French police to intervene and order those on board to disembark before puncturing the boat with a knife. In a separate incident, another group attempted to launch a dinghy amid rough waves, with several people struggling to catch up as the boat pulled away. At least three boats reportedly set off towards Britain on Sunday, according to a photographer documenting departures from the French coast. The attempted crossings came after a 21-day pause, the longest such gap in recorded arrivals this year, with journeys previously restricted by strong winds and rough seas. Provisional British Home Office figures showed that 1,193 people crossed the Channel aboard 16 small boats between Thursday and Saturday, including 671 on Friday alone. Crossings resumed on Thursday, highlighting the continuing challenge facing authorities on both sides of the Channel over irregular migration. #migrantcrisis #englishchannel #ukmigration #france #unitedkingdom #migrantboats #channelcrossings #illegalmigration #frenchpolice #bordercrisis #gravelines #ukimmigration #europe #migrationcrisis #timesnowworld Stay connected with Times Now World for real-time global news and analysis: 🌐 Read full coverage: https://www.timesnownews.com/world 📱 Instagram:   / timesnow.world   🐦 Follow us on X: https://x.com/TimesNow_World #timesnowworld #worldnews #breakingnews
