Duliajan to Kohima via Dimapur | Nagaland Travel Vlog | Dzukou Valley Trek So friends, our Nagaland travel journey finally begins from Duliajan to Kohima via Dimapur, with one big adventure waiting ahead — the famous Dzukou Valley Trek. We started from Duliajan and reached Naharkatia Railway Station around 11:15 AM. From there, we boarded the Avadh Assam Express towards Dimapur. Our train journey cost approximately ₹500 per person. After several hours, we reached Dimapur around 4 PM, our first proper stop in Nagaland. Our pre-booked car was already waiting outside the railway station, and from Dimapur we started our road journey towards Kohima. The distance from Dimapur to Kohima is around 68 kilometres, but because of road construction, traffic, rain and difficult stretches, the journey took us more than two hours. As we climbed towards Kohima, the landscape slowly changed from the plains to beautiful green hills, clouds and winding mountain roads. If you are planning Nagaland travel, this Dimapur to Kohima journey is something you should experience. And one practical tip — if you are reaching Kohima late in the evening, it is better to have your dinner around Dimapur because finding an open restaurant later in Kohima may be difficult. Finally, we reached Kohima, checked into our accommodation and took some much-needed rest. Our stay cost approximately ₹1,700. But Kohima was not the final destination. We were here to prepare for our next adventure — the Dzukou Valley Trek. 💰 Our Approximate Travel Expenses • Train journey: ₹500 per person • Stay in Kohima one night: ₹1,700 • Local transportation and vehicle arrangements for 3 days: ₹12,000 • Local trip/transport and guide arrangement for Dzukou Valley: ₹6,000 These are our approximate expenses and may vary depending on the season, number of travellers, vehicle, accommodation and local arrangements. If you are planning a Dzukou Valley Trek from Kohima, proper preparation is important. The trek involves steep and rocky sections, and the trail can become slippery after rain. A good pair of trekking shoes, raincoat, water, basic medicines, first-aid items, snacks and a power bank should be part of your backpack. And remember — keep your backpack light. Every extra kilogram has to come with you up the mountain! The Dzukou Valley Trek is not just about reaching the destination.
