While getting a Masters of Social Work in the mid-1980s, Joanne Frustaci and her classmates agitated for stronger recruitment of students of color in order to improve the Smith College School for Social Work and the discipline as a whole. Students also struggled with each other to figure out how to negotiate different interest groups, including LGBT students, students of color, feminists, and men's groups. This is her oral history about this activism and how Dean Ann Hartman responded. For more information, visit https://sophia.smith.edu/ssw100-history
