Durga Nava Saptasloki Mantra by Gitasri Pani ॥ श्री नवदुर्गा ध्यानम् ॥ (Meditation) ध्यायेद् देवीं महादुर्गां नवदुर्गास्वरूपिणीम् । सिंहारूढां त्रिनेत्रां च वराभयप्रदायिनीम् ॥ Dhyāyed devīṃ mahādurgāṃ navadurgāsvarūpiṇīm | Siṃhārūḍhāṃ trinetrāṃ ca varābhayapradāyinīm || Meaning: Let one meditate upon Mahā-Durgā, who manifests through the nine forms of Navadurga; seated upon a lion, three-eyed, and bestowing boons and fearlessness. ॥ श्लोक १ ॥ आदिशक्तिः परा देवी विश्वमाया सनातनी । ज्ञानिनामपि या माया तां मुक्तिदां नमाम्यहम् ॥१॥ Ādiśaktiḥ parā devī viśvamāyā sanātanī | Jñānināmapi yā māyā tāṃ muktidāṃ namāmyaham || 1 || Meaning: I bow to the Supreme Primordial Goddess, the eternal Māyā of the universe, She who is Māyā even for the wise, and who bestows liberation. ॥ श्लोक २ ॥ दुर्गे स्मरणमात्रेण नश्यन्ति भयजातयः । शुभां बुद्धिं च मे देहि दुःखदैन्यविनाशिनि ॥२॥ Durge smaraṇamātreṇa naśyanti bhayajātayaḥ | Śubhāṃ buddhiṃ ca me dehi duḥkhadainyavināśini || 2 || Meaning: O Durgā, by Your mere remembrance, all forms of fear perish. O Goddess who destroys suffering and misery, grant me noble and auspicious wisdom. ॥ श्लोक ३ ॥ सर्वमङ्गलमूर्ते त्वम् सर्वार्थफलदायिनि । शरणागतदीनानां परित्राणपरायणे ॥३॥ Sarvamaṅgalamūrte tvam sarvārthaphaladāyini | Śaraṇāgatadīnānāṃ paritrāṇaparāyaṇe || 3 || Meaning: You are the very embodiment of all auspiciousness, the giver of the fruits of every worthy aspiration. You are wholly devoted to protecting those who seek refuge and those who are helpless. ॥ श्लोक ४ ॥ सर्वरूपमयी देवि सर्वशक्तिसमन्विते । मम हृदि सदा भासि बुद्धिरूपेण सर्वदा ॥४॥ Sarvarūpamayī devi sarvaśaktisamanvite | Mama hṛdi sadā bhāsi buddhirūpeṇa sarvadā || 4 || Meaning: O Goddess, You are of the nature of every form, endowed with every power. You ever shine within my heart, abiding there eternally as intelligence. ॥ श्लोक ५ ॥ रोगशोकभयं मे नुद अम्बे भयविनाशिनि । त्वामाश्रितो न बाध्यते मातर्मां पालयाम्बिके ॥५॥ Rogaśokabhayaṃ me nuda ambe bhayavināśini | Tvāmāśrito na bādhyate mātarmāṃ pālayāmbike || 5 || Meaning: O Mother, O destroyer of fear, drive away from me disease, sorrow, and fear. May one who has taken refuge in You not be afflicted by adversity. O Mother Ambikā, protect me. ॥ श्लोक ६ ॥ विश्वात्मिके जगन्माते जगदाधाररूपिणि । आपद्भ्यो मां सदा पाहि दुर्गे देवि नमामि ते ॥६॥ Viśvātmike jaganmāte jagadādhārarūpiṇi | Āpadbhyo māṃ sadā pāhi durge devi namāmi te || 6 || Meaning: O Mother of the universe, You are the very Self of the cosmos. You are the sustaining foundation of the entire world. Protect me always from every adversity. O Goddess Durgā, I bow to You. ॥ श्लोक ७ ॥ कर्मबन्धविमोक्षार्थं धियं मे देहि चण्डिके । ममत्वमोहजं पाशं छिन्धि मातर्नमामि ते ॥७॥ Karmabandhavimokṣārthaṃ dhiyaṃ me dehi caṇḍike | Mamatvamohajaṃ pāśaṃ chindhi mātarnamāmi te || 7 || Meaning: O Caṇḍikā, grant me wisdom for liberation from the bondage of karma. Cut asunder the fetter born of possessiveness and delusion. O Mother, I bow to You. ॥ समापन प्रार्थना ॥ (Closing Prayer) या देवी सर्वरूपेण जगत्यस्मिन् विराजसे । मयि भक्तिं विवेकं च देहि मातर्नमामि ते ॥ Yā devī sarvarūpeṇa jagatyasmin virājase | Mayi bhaktiṃ vivekaṃ ca dehi mātarnamāmi te || Meaning: O Mother, who shines throughout this universe in all its manifold forms, grant me devotion and discrimination.
