The Shettihalli Rosary Church, also known as the Shettihalli Church Hassan, is an abandoned 19th century Gothic-style church located in the state of KarnATAKA, India. The church was built by French missionaries in the 1860s and was an important center of worship for the local Catholic community. However, in the 1960s the church was submerged under the backwaters of the Hemavathi Dam, which was built to provide irrigation and hydroelectric power to the region. Now the church is visible only during the summer months when the water level recedes. The church is a popular tourist spot for its architectural beauty and its unique setting, and is considered as an important historical and architectural monument in the region.
