What happens when the faith we inherit meets the people we come to know? In this Round Table conversation, Dr. Moriah Hargrave and I explore organized religion, forgiveness, and the difference between accepting inherited beliefs and discovering faith for ourselves. We talk about challenging the way things have always been done and approaching others with curiosity and respect through Cultural Stewardship™. While Moriah was still in high school, her sister’s friendship with a Saudi college student brought their Christian family and their Muslim friends together: “Our house became their house… because our families had so much in common with regard to faith.” Moriah shares how she became comfortable with not knowing all the answers. Realizing she didn’t have to answer to anyone about her faith set her free. A breakthrough came when she recognized that what mattered most was displaying the light and love of God.
