Koryvantes - Ανίκητος | Invincible | Greek Pagan Folk Rock

A hymn to Alexander the Great — from the boy who tamed Bucephalus to the king who reached the edge of the world. The ancient Greek verses come from Plutarch's Life of Alexander and Homer's Iliad. Koryvantes — named after the Korybantes, the armed ecstatic dancers of ancient myth who worshipped with drums and fire. 🎵 Lyrics by Sarantis Oikonomou for Koryvantes. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🌍 ENGLISH TRANSLATION ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ My son, seek a kingdom worthy of yourself, for Macedonia is too small for you. Alalai! Alalai! (the Macedonian war cry) In the land of Macedonia a child was born, with the Iliad by his pillow and a sword at his side. He tamed wild Bucephalus before the light, and the world seemed small to him, the sky too narrow. You are invincible, my son! You are invincible, my son! INVINCIBLE! INVINCIBLE! Alexander, son of fire! INVINCIBLE! INVINCIBLE! To the edge of the world you will go! Granicus, Issus, Gaugamela — thunder! The phalanx like a wall of bronze. From the Nile to the Indus, one voice, and your name carved into the sky. You are invincible, my son! You are invincible, my son! INVINCIBLE! INVINCIBLE! Alexander, son of fire! INVINCIBLE! INVINCIBLE! To the edge of the world you will go! Always to be the best and to stand above all others… Alalai! Alalai! INVINCIBLE! INVINCIBLE! Alexander, son of fire! INVINCIBLE! INVINCIBLE!
