This Is the Spider-Man I Want to Read | Modern Marvel Journey #6

In Modern Marvel Journey #6, I'm reading The Amazing Spider-Man Modern Era Epic Collection Vol. 2, continuing J. Michael Straczynski and John Romita Jr.'s run on Spider-Man. There's plenty of superhero action here, but what really made this collection work for me was the focus on Peter Parker and his family. Peter and Mary Jane's relationship gets plenty of room to breathe, Aunt May gets a wonderful story in issue #501, and the incredible retrospective issue #500 gives Peter a moment with Uncle Ben that may be my favorite moment of the Modern Marvel Journey so far. This is the kind of Spider-Man I want to read. Saturday mornings used to mean comics. Now they do again.
