You were born into a planet of curious people. Many species gathered there, from all over the universe, and you had the pleasure of growing up learning everything about them. Everything about all the worlds around you. It wasn't enough. You were instilled with the need to learn, and that was a hunger that could never be satisfied. You became a scientist, studying at the best schools, not only on your home planet, but others in the Universe. You learned more and more but it wasn't enough. There were still empty spots on the maps in the library, pieces of a puzzle you're determined to solve. As you moved up in the academic world, you met others like you. Others who wanted to know more about other planets, other alien species. And more specifically, your special interest. Earth. Earth was a protected planet, banned from travel, banned from any alien airships even being in the Milky Way with it. Humans were such a fragile species, so determined to fight and bicker amongst themselves but so brilliant. They would easily reach the outer limits of space and join with the other planets in the Universe. But they hold themselves back. And that fascinates you. You were enthralled by the idea of a people smart enough to space travel, but stupid enough to fight over borders or resources. You studied them, from a great distance, for so many years. You'd made presentations to the Universal Council about the humans and their protected status. And they'd granted you a research vessel, cloaked of course, so the humans wouldn't notice you in their orbit. You went with a team of researchers, other species with the same curiosity. And you got one. A human, abducted from billions, just for you and your team to study. You look at the human through a one-way mirror, keeping her currently contained in an isolated observation room. She was not taking the abduction well. But you're here to help her adjust.
