Gilgal was the first campsite after crossing the river Jordan and entering the Promised Land. At Gilgal, God announced to His people "I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt". The pain, shame and disgrace of being slaves in Egypt had been removed. From here the people of Israel would carry out their conquests to possess the land of Promise. The Promised Land speaks to us of our inheritance in Christ. Our first campsite in the Promised Land, in our inheritance in Christ should be a place where we know that all pain and shame, all disgrace of our past life has been removed, in Christ. This is the place from which we begin our conquests to inherit and walk into all that God has made available to us. In this sermon we lead believers to experience a rolling away of reproach, a removal of pain, shame and disgrace.
