This opening theme title sequence of doctor who is from season 7, 1970. This specific story is the ambassador's of death which featured the main theme stopping prematurely at the "doctor who" logo, a reprise of the cliffhanger from the previous story, a sting sound effect and then the completion of the theme wih episode name and number. The Ambassador's of death features the third doctor, liz shaw, the brigadeer, the mars ambassadors and returning since the invasion sgt benton. The Ambassador's of death is in 7 parts. Out of the 7 parts episode 4 is completely in black and white while episodes 1 and 5 are completely in colour. The rest are a mix of black and white and colour. The restoration of these black and white episodes occured due to the recovery of some footage taken by fans form north america from their own tv. These pieces of footage were fuzzy but contained the colour information. It was a simple matter of overlaying the colour footage ontop of the high quality black and white footage. This process is reffered to as CSO or Colour Silurian Overlay because doctor who and the silurians was the first story in doctor who that this process was used and all seven episodes were restored.
