Curve into the bowl At the top, curve left and come down with HEAVY pressure to make a thick downstroke. Stop at the baseline. This is the left side of the "d" bowl. 3. Bounce out Without lifting pen, curve out to the right in a small "C" shape. Light pressure. This gives it bounce. 4. The stem up From the end of that C, go up with light pressure to about 2/3 height. 5. The tall ascender + loop At the top, add a curve and come straight down with HEAVY pressure. As you pass the x-height, add a little flick/loop to the left. Land on baseline. *Pressure rule*: Light up = thin.
