Prof.Wario: Borana unity must come before individual political ambitions.

Marsabit gubernatorial aspirant Prof. Wario Guyo says the interests of the Borana community must take precedence over individual political ambitions as leaders position themselves for the 2027 General Election. Speaking at Weston Hotel in Nairobi during engagements involving the Borana Baliti Council of Elders, Prof. Wario said he would not place his personal interests above those of the community. “I will never supersede my community’s interests at any cost. I will always prioritize my community’s interests above my own interests,” Prof. Wario said. He described the elders’ engagement with Borana leaders and gubernatorial aspirants as “vital and necessary,” saying such consultations were what the community had long needed from both leaders in office and those seeking elective positions. Prof. Wario urged the elders to sustain the initiative, saying continued dialogue would help unite Borana leaders and provide a platform for building consensus ahead of the 2027 elections. “This is the spirit we need to continue with — bringing our leaders together and putting the interests of the community first,” he said. He called on all Borana gubernatorial aspirants to embrace the ongoing consultations and approach the 2027 contest with the broader interests of the community in mind.
