AFVN radio - February 23, 1970 - Qui Nhon, South Viet Nam - FOUR HOURS

U.S. armed forces radio from during the Viet Nam War. Encoded from four one-hour cassettes. The programming is mostly current Top 40 music and oldies, with occasional news breaks and public service announcements. Recorded in the evening, so you will not hear "Good morning, Viet Nam!" It's an AM station (770 on the dial), therefore not stereo, and the audio quality is not very good. But this is what you would have heard on a steamy night in Qui Nhon. During each record, I show the picture sleeve, record label or the cover of the sheet music, so you can easily identify the artist and song title. I was also able to find photos of two of the announcers, and I plugged those in whenever they are speaking. I had to delete five songs because of YouTube copyright restrictions - four by the Beatles (Come Together, Something, Help and Nowhere Man) and one by the Temptations (My Girl). © Copyright 2021 Earl P.
