Your CPU is handling device inputs wrong — and it’s costing you latency, FPS, and responsiveness.
Here’s the fix: This video walks through how to properly enable MSI Mode, clean up IRQ conflicts, reduce DPC latency, and tweak key interrupt settings for better input response and smoother competitive gameplay.
No hype, no bloat — just real, actionable latency gains.
🛠️ Commands & Registry Paths Used:
🔹 Step 1: Enable MSI Mode (Message Signaled Interrupts)
Tool: MSI Utility v3 (run as Admin)
Download from trusted forums (link in video/pinned comment)
View devices: MSI Supported = Yes
Check GPU, NVMe, Sound Card, USB, Ethernet
Apply, Restart
🔹 Optional Registry Path (Manual MSI Enable):
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\PCI\{DeviceID}\Device Parameters\Interrupt Management\MessageSignaledInterruptProperties
DWORD: MSISupported = 1
🔹 Step 2: Disable Wake Timers to Prevent Interrupt Spikes
🧩 Part A – Registry
Path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power
DWORD: PowerRequestOverrideEnabled = 0
🧩 Part B – Power Plan Settings
Control Panel, Power Options , Change Plan Settings , Advanced
Sleep , Allow Wake Timers: Disable (on battery + plugged in)
🔹 Step 3: Disable HPET (High Precision Event Timer)
Run in Command Prompt (Admin):
bcdedit /deletevalue useplatformclock
🧪 Optional Check:
bcdedit /enum
If no useplatformclock found, HPET is already disabled.
🔹 Step 4: Prioritize Game Network Packets (QoS Policy)
Tool: Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc)
Path:
Computer Configuration , Windows Settings , Policy-based QoS
Create New Policy:
Name: GameTrafficBoost
DSCP: 46
Throttle Rate: 0
Apply to: Specific executable (cs2.exe, valorant.exe) or all TCP/UDP outbound
🔹 Step 5: Clean Up Ghost Devices (IRQ Conflicts)
Run in Command Prompt (Admin):
set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1
start devmgmt.msc
Then in Device Manager:
View , Show Hidden Devices
Uninstall grayed-out entries under:
Network Adapters
Sound, Video & Game Controllers
USB Controllers
✅ Results You Can Expect:
Lower Input Delay
Better IRQ Routing
Reduced Ping Spikes
Cleaner DPC Latency
More Responsive FPS Gaming
