Andrew Callahan says he’s skeptical of Adam Schefter’s reporting on the Christian Gonzalez contract after Schefter suggested the deal wasn’t close. Callahan believes the Patriots and Gonzalez were mainly working through guarantees, cash flow, and contract language, with New England ultimately increasing the average annual value to $33.75 million while Gonzalez got more money upfront.
