We Found Alaska at Its WILDEST | Peak Salmon Run in Valdez Vanlife

Welcome to Valdez, Alaska — and what might be our wildest day in Alaska yet! 🐻🐟🦭 We arrived in Valdez during the peak of the salmon run, and we had absolutely no idea just how incredible this trip was going to be. From the moment we arrived, Alaska's wildlife was everywhere! Steph got to spend her 33rd birthday in Valdez, and it turned out to be the most amazing birthday she could have ever dreamed of. ❤️ She got to experience my dream wildlife encounter — seeing a mama bear with TWO cubs — and she also discovered a wildlife encounter she didn't even know she wanted: watching sea lions feast on salmon! 🥹🦭 We spent a few days salmon fishing and caught so many fish that we gave to a family to help them eat all winter! 🎣 We watched the incredible salmon run, saw sea lions chasing and feasting on salmon, and had the unforgettable experience of watching a mama bear and her two cubs playing in the wild. We also explored beautiful Valdez, Alaska, visited the Solomon Gulch Hatchery, and took in the incredible scenery surrounding this little Alaskan town. This was one of those days where we kept saying, “Can this really get any better?” — and somehow, it kept getting better. What started as a trip to experience the salmon run turned into one of the most unforgettable days of our entire Alaska adventure — and a birthday I will never forget. ❤️ Come along with us as we experience the peak salmon run in Valdez, Alaska!
