Indulge in this rich, moist and intensely chocolatey heart-decorated chocolate cake, covered in glossy chocolate ganache and finished with beautiful chocolate frosting swirls and chocolate-chip hearts. 🍫❤️ This homemade chocolate cake has soft, tender layers with a deep cocoa flavor, creamy chocolate filling, and a smooth ganache coating. It’s perfect for birthdays, Valentine’s Day, anniversaries, celebrations, or simply satisfying a chocolate craving! 🍰 Ingredients: For the Chocolate Cake Layers: 1¾ cups (220g) all-purpose flour 1½ cups (300g) granulated sugar ⅔ cup (67g) unsweetened cocoa powder 1 tsp (5g) baking powder 1 tsp (5g) baking soda Pinch of salt 3 eggs (your ingredient list also says 4 eggs; use 3 if following the quantities above) ½ cup (120ml) buttermilk ¼ cup (60ml) melted butter ¼ cup (60ml) vegetable oil For the Chocolate Ganache 2 dark chocolate bars (200g total), chopped 200ml heavy cream ½ cup (120ml) heavy cream 1 tbsp sugar 1 cup chocolate chips, optional 👩‍🍳 Instructions 1. Make the Cake Layers Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line your cake pans with parchment paper. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sugar. Add the eggs, buttermilk, melted butter and vegetable oil. Mix until the batter is smooth and well combined. Do not overmix. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, approximately 25–35 minutes, depending on the size of your pans. Let the cakes cool in the pans for about 10 minutes, then transfer them to a rack to cool completely. Once completely cool, level the layers if needed. 2. Prepare the Chocolate Ganache Chop the dark chocolate and place it in a heatproof bowl. Heat 200ml heavy cream with the sugar until hot and steaming, but do not boil. Pour the hot cream over the chocolate. Let it sit for 2–3 minutes, then stir slowly until completely smooth and glossy. Allow the ganache to cool until it reaches a spreadable consistency. If using chocolate chips, fold them into the ganache or use them as decoration. 3. Assemble the Cake Place the first cake layer on a serving plate or cake board. Spread an even layer of chocolate ganache over the cake. Add the second cake layer and gently press it into place. Cover the entire cake with the remaining ganache. Smooth the sides and top while keeping the chocolate finish glossy. 4. Decorate Pipe chocolate frosting swirls around the top edge of the cake. Create the heart shapes on the sides using chocolate chips, as shown in the cake design. Add additional chocolate decorations if desired. Chill the cake briefly to help the ganache set. Slice and serve—and enjoy this incredibly rich chocolate cake! 🍫❤️ 🔖 Hashtags #ChocolateCake #ChocolateCakeRecipe #ChocolateGanache #ChocolateLovers #MoistChocolateCake #HomemadeCake #CakeRecipe #ChocolateDessert #BirthdayCake #HeartCake #CakeDecorating #GanacheCake #Baking #DessertRecipe #EasyCakeRecipe #ChocolateDessertRecipe #HomemadeDessert #BakingRecipe #CakeLovers #ChocolateCakeRecipe #YouTubeBaking #FoodVideo #DessertLovers
