Travel to the courts of North India around 1700 through more than two hours of music inspired by the ancient Dhrupad tradition. Deep Rudra Veena resonance, continuous Tanpura drones, powerful Pakhawaj rhythms, meditative alaps and gradually unfolding modal improvisations create an atmosphere inspired by the musical culture of early modern North India. This collection explores different moods of Hindustani classical music — from slow contemplative Rudra Veena alaps and nocturnal ragas to rhythmic Dhrupad-inspired performances, Bansuri, Sarangi, Shehnai and traditional Nom-Tom vocal textures. 🎵 Featured sounds: • Rudra Veena • Tanpura • Pakhawaj • Bansuri • Sarangi • Shehnai • Dhrupad-inspired Nom-Tom vocals 🏛️ Setting: North India, circa 1700 Mughal and Rajput court culture 🎨 Visuals inspired by historical Mughal, Rajput and Pahari miniature painting traditions. Historic Frequencies explores musical worlds inspired by different places, cultures and periods of history. These recordings are creative interpretations rather than archival reconstructions or claims of historical authenticity. 🎧 Best experienced with headphones.
