“The Voice Above the Storm” joins Psalms 28 and 29 in one powerful movement: a desperate cry for God not to remain silent becomes a thunderous vision of the Lord whose voice rules the waters. The singer asks for mercy and justice, then declares that God has heard, strengthened, and sheltered His people.
Psalm 29 calls all heaven to give God glory. His voice breaks cedars, shakes the wilderness, flashes like fire, and reigns above the Flood—yet the final word is peace. The bridge also looks to Jesus calming the wind and sea (Mark 4:35–41), a New Testament witness to His authority over creation, without treating Psalm 29 as a direct prediction of that event.
Based on Psalms 28–29. Also reflecting Mark 4:35–41 and John 10:11.
Performed by The Broken and Redeemed.
